Who said this General Election wasn't a game?

You would think that, in a time of crisis, political parties might actually focus on promoting their stance on the issues at hand rather than pandering to the few WoW and RoH fans out there for those last few votes. I present to you...

Let's Get Ireland Working

Go Ireland!

What's next?:

Good Friday Agreement Action Figures? An effort by Fianna Fail to highlight and preserve what's left of their positive legacy in Irish Politics? Perhaps the figures could have the tagline: " Complete with adjustable poses...and ideology"?

Why  not an Irish Labour Mr. Frosty Machine - tagline: "Irish Labour is such fun,  they raise tax for everyone! Coalesce and make new friends, but lose support, and the party ends"? (If you wish for a theme tune to 'hum' this to, click here)

Socialist Worker's Party/United Left Alliance Rubik's Cube maybe, sporting the tagline: "Something  even the greatest of minds can't quite figure out"?

Irish Goverment Coalition Kinder Eggs: They are nasty, boring, and ultimately and inevitably a disappointment and bear warning "avoid swallowing/choking hazard"?

Or better yet, a new Irish Economy themed game called "KerPlunk".

I have to admit, it is times like this when one can somewhat justify the jeering and cynicism that surrounds Irish politics. While I mean for this post to merely poke fun at an idea (that was clearly ripped from the 2008 Obama Campaign Supporter's Playbook) and publish mere set of musings , I find it a bit scary that links for the are being advertised all over the internet above idea of maybe...promoting what they stand for. If planting Enda Kenny's head atop a poorly drawn cartoon body is what it takes to win an election nowadays; does this mean that in the next election party leaders will have to appear on the X-Factor and be judged by Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh (an idea that has admittedly been hinted at before: see here)? How about a new reality show then, call it "So, You Think You Can Lead?"
